Forensic Chemistry and Lab

NewFields' environmental forensics capabilities assist in determining the sources, nature, and fate of chemical contamination, and parties responsible. We assess the detailed chemical characteristics of a site and build conceptual models that address myriad relevant factors, incorporating the effects of operational and regulatory histories that influence site conditions. NewFields often uses its proprietary forensic techniques to "fingerprint" the nature of contamination, and may conduct laboratory based R&D studies to elucidate relevant chemical processes.

NewFields' extensive experience includes petroleum hydrocarbons, manufactured gas plant (MGP) wastes, PCBs, dioxins and furans, chlorinated pesticides and industrial chemicals. Sites include refineries, bulk fuel storage facilities, pipelines, retail gasoline stations, former manufactured gas plants, terrestrial and aquatic oil spills, and large-scale sediment locations. Experienced in hundreds of forensics investigations, NewFields provides insightful data analysis and interpretation, compelling presentations of findings, and outstanding expert representation.
