National Park Service at Yosemite National Park
Since 2002, NewFields has provided environmental consulting services to the National Park Service at Yosemite National Park on a wide range of environmental planning, permitting and regulatory compliance issues, including the support of several large and controversial projects.In addition to developing environmental compliance standard operating procedures for the park, we have prepared documents and studies compliant with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
Further, we have conducted natural and cultural resource surveys and analyses that are consistent with current laws, regulations and governing orders, including the following:
- Environmental impact studies and environmental assessments (EISs and EAs)
- Biological assessments, consistent with Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act
- Archaeological resource surveys and monitoring
- Cultural landscape inventories, consistent with Section 6 of the NHPA
- Activities affecting the bed and banks of designated wild and scenic rivers, consistent with Section 7 of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act
- Wetland and floodplain statements of findings, consistent with Executive Orders
