Wetlands are nature’s most productive ecosystems. Often located at the interface between rivers and open water bodies, wetlands process nutrients and organic materials carried in runoff and produce rich and vital communities of microbial, plant, and animal life. The complex natural processes found in wetlands are known to remove and transform many natural and anthropogenic pollutants, and constructed wetlands have been increasingly been designed and implemented as natural water treatment systems. Such systems are a compelling alternative to conventional water and wastewater treatment facilities because they are less costly, provide ecosystem benefits not found in traditional approaches, and typically require less maintenance.
We have unique worldwide experience in the study, design, and implementation of wetland systems for both habitat creation and natural water treatment. Our staff is highly qualified in the full spectrum of services required for successful constructed wetland projects.
