Alternative Energy

EPC = Equity, Permitting, and Compliance

We are committed to supporting our clients in developing cleaner, sustainable, and cost effective renewable energy sources. In the energy sector EPC commonly stands for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. We provide the EPC before the EPC, namely Equity, Permitting, and Compliance. Support services range from raising capital, due diligence, environmental permitting though construction monitoring, and support services. Renewable energy generates electricity from sustainable sources with little to no pollution and less global warming emissions. These technologies include solar, wind, geothermal, biomass/biofuel, and battery storage energy.

NewFields works to procure required permits and maintain compliance throughout construction and operation. We support our clients from the beginning with the ability to bring capital to financially support a project.  Services include:

  • Strategic Project Development and Management

Case Study

CHALLENGE

In the early stages of construction, projects often encounter unusual and unexpected challenges. We maintain established relationships with federal, state, and local agencies that allow us to quickly and efficiently develop tailored solutions that satisfy both our clients and the agencies.

THE APPROACH

Case 1

A threatened and protected species, the desert tortoise, established a nest on the major access road at a project site in southern Nevada. Any delay in hauling would delay the entire project, with significant costs. We obtained approval to construct a bypass around the nesting area through a federal corridor that day which allowed construction to resume and keep the project on schedule.

Case 2

A cultural artifact was discovered one morning during construction of a solar energy facility site. The rules state construction stops until the find was addressed. Although we were on site providing federally required biological monitoring, we immediately dispatched a senior Archeologist and coordinated with the State Historic Preservation Office and the federal land management agency and had resolved the situation before lunch!  This allowed our client to maintain their project schedule.
