Dane Williams
Partner / Senior Remote Sensing and GIS Specialist
Mr. Williams is a Senior Remote Sensing and GIS Analyst with NewFields. He holds a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from the School of Environmental Design at the University of Georgia. Mr. Williams has over 17 years experience utilizing Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems technologies to assess, analyze, and manage geographic data for a broad range of applications from city infrastructure analysis, business process analysis, rigorous terrain and imagery examination, to assessment of agricultural production systems and discrimination of vegetative species. His landscape architecture background provides a multi-disciplinary perspective on spatial analysis and problem solving for projects that include water/wastewater infrastructure data collection and mapping, vegetative biomass analysis, site remediation data management, and photogrammetric processing producing orthoimagery and terrain imagery. Mr. Williams’ experience also includes LiDAR acquisition planning and data reduction, watershed delineation and analysis including impervious environmental effects, groundwater seep identification using airborne thermal imagery, regional land cover classification on multi-state scale, site-specific high-resolution remote sensing analysis for delineation of soil surface characteristics and vegetative cover quantification, multi-decade remote sensing trend analysis, and vegetative vigor assessments. He has utilized RS data products including multispectral, hyperspectral, radar, lidar, and thermal products obtained from satellite, airborne, and terrestrial platforms.
